letter from Nhien Huu Pham, President of North American Vietnamese Mennonite Fellowship

Dear All,
As you may know, five leaders and Pastor Quang, the vice President of the Mennonite Church in Vietnam, were imprisonned by the authorities in Vietnam for their faith. Mennonite World Conference and Mennonite Churches all around the world have been working hard on the diplomatic front to defend our brothers and sister. We are also concerned about the daily living expenses of the prisoners and their families. I would like to call upon your generousity to help them. Their monthly needs are as the following:

1. Pastor Quang's family's needs

       - Education for Quang's wife and their children
   - Food and other Living expenses
    US$100.00
US$ 80.00

2. Church operation :

       - Food for the poor students and guests
   - Utility and building maintenance
   - Social functions
   - Communication
    US$ 90.00
US$ 90.00
US$ 20.00
US$ 50.00

3. Other prisoners:

       - Visitation
   - Helping their families
    US$100.00
US$200.00

    Total     US$730.00

When Quang and his colleages were free, they could work to generate enough income to meet their families needs. Now that they are in prison, our help would lighten their burden greatly.
