Action: writing letters of support to Vietnamese Mennonites
If you and/or your congregation would like to visibly show support to Vietnamese Mennonites, you may write letters of comfort. The letters may be written in English since most communities have persons who can read English. The letters should be short and can:
 | introduce the person(s) writing, |
| | include reference to a Mennonite congregation or church here in the United States, |
| | say something like "I have heard that your son/daughter/husband is imprisoned. I am praying that he/she will soon be able to return home." |
| | especially include information on you and/or your congregation's prayer support, as this will help Vietnamese Mennonites know they are not alone. |
We don't feel comfortable releasing addresses on this public website. Therefore, please send all your letters to us and we will forward to family members. Please be certain you use names as below so we send correctly. Send only letters. Thanks.

I recently had a chance to listen to Mordechai Vanunu, who spent 18 years in solitary confinement in Israel. He treasured deeply each letter he received, and could identify by name and location many of the people who wrote to him. May we offer this same comfort.
