Second anniversary remembrance of September 11, 2001Friends,Some members of our congregations may be grieving the events of September 11, 2001, and some may being focusing more on the wars on Afghanistan and Iraq, or the consequences of the war on terrorism.
If you decide to remember this date in your congregation, you might devote your time in several different directions:
Many resources were produced in past years: A few new resources for this year:
Circles of Hope: A Healing Memorial to 9/11
Ecumenical Resources for the Anniversary of 9-11-01
Litany of Ashes and Stones In Memory of the Dead of 9/11/01 And All Victims of Terrorism and War
This litany come from the Shalom Center newsletter, but I can't find it on their web site, so I am reproducing it here.
You'll perhaps need to adapt it for your own setting if your service doesn't take place on a river.
