Peace Pledge:

We choose to love our enemies and to act against war with Iraq.

Because I believe "Security is the fruit of peace and terror the harvest of war," I pledge to:

Pray frequently for the leaders and people of Iraq and the United States, and for humility, sensitivity, and courage as I work for peace.
Encourage my congregation to join in prayer and fasting with other Mennonites on Peace Sunday, November 10, to discern our congregational response to war with Iraq.
Write a letter to the editor of my local newspaper expressing opposition to the war with Iraq.
Share this peace pledge with others.
Contribute to MCC’s "Iraq Families at Risk Fund."
Reduce my use of oil.
Prepare myself for nonviolent direct action by attending the MCC training, "Journey to Jerusalem: Walking the Path of Nonviolence."
Participate in or organize:
An antiwar congregational public witness in front of government buildings.
A Christian Peacemaker Team violence reduction event or delegation to Iraq.
A Work Sabbath by taking off several hours of work to pray and to contact my legislative representatives, if U.S. military troops invade Iraq.
