Located about 70 miles north of Atlanta, this conference center is
nestled amid the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains on more
than 900 acres, including a 200-acre lake with fishing docks, a
sandy beach with lake swimming, rental canoes, nature trails,
tennis and basketball courts, ping pong tables, an open field for
soccer, football, and softball. Their facilities can accommodate up
to 1,000 overnight guests and includes two hotels, a dormitorystyle
lodge, two group cabins, lakeside campground, and ampitheater-
style chapel. All buffet-style dining in the lake-view dining hall.
A map will be included with your registration materials along with
information about transportation from the airport. Please write
your special needs and concerns on the registration form.
Registration fees
Registration fees are the same for adults, youth, and children
(age 6 and older) to help to cover costs for speakers, youth, and
children’s program leaders and other costs for the gathering.

Meals
Meals are cafeteria style and are non-negotiable for those staying
at the conference center. The cost is $41.00 for six meals. For vegetarians
there is a salad bar and vegetable options for most meals.
Lodging options for the two nights are:
Single room—$102.00
Double room (Two double beds and sofa bed)—$56.00 per
person plus $15.00 extra per child (3–12 years old)
Camping site—$32.00

Scholarships
Scholarships of up to $100 are available to help you and your
family attend the peace gathering. Please check first with your
congregation and conference for funding help. To apply, send
information about your work for peace, your reasons for coming,
your total family expenses for this gathering, other aid you’ve
pursued, and request for a specific dollar amount. Requests are
due in to Leo Hartshorn, Minister of Peace and Justice, by May 2,
2003. You will be notified by May 16 concerning how much you
have received in scholarship funds. Scholarships are made possible
through your donations. For those who may not attend the
gathering, please consider sending a donation to make it possible
for others to attend.
Variety show
Please bring music, skits, jokes, etc. to share during our
Wednesday evening sharing time. Stories and songs related to
peace and justice are especially appropriate.
