Dear sister churches and Mennonite peace advocates,

Greetings from Justapaz! We write to you with an invitation. Please consider participating in the Day of Action and Prayer for Colombia on May 21. The coalition effort will use the website PeaceinColombia (peaceincolombia.org) as a place to share materials, strategies, talking points, legislative action, and what everyone is doing and organizing. What you do in North America will be shared with church groups in Colombia on June 4, World Day of Prayer. As a coalition we will provide a variety of worship and legislative resources. We at JustaPaz will be contributing

the story of a pastor and social leader killed March 2,
ways we are asking for your support through prayer and communication with members of Congress,
the "road map for peace" created by Protestant churches in February of this year, and
Mennonite worship materials and sample sermons.
If you would like to be an organizational co-sponsor (we are looking for a long list), please let Lora Steiner of the MCC Washington Office and Erik Cooke at Witness for Peace know. and . You can sign on as a church, conference peace group, grassroots solidarity group, or as a social action, mission, or sister church committee of your church. Please include your church's name.

Amidst all the pain and suffering and the ongoing "crucifixion" in Colombia, we find hopeful signs of new life and glimpses of the Reign of God. The accompaniment of the international community is an invaluable support to sisters and brothers here. Will you join us for this Day of Prayer and Action?

For peace,
Janna Hunter-Bowman, JustaPaz
Documentation and Advocacy Coordinator of Justapaz, MCC
