Pearl Hoover

Pearl grew up near Fairborn, Ohio in the shadow of Wright Patterson Air Force Base. She served with Mennonite Board of Missions Voluntary Service in Richmond, Virginia and in Chicago working primarily with homeless children and women. She graduated from Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary in 1995 with an MDiv and pastored Shalom Mennonite Church of Newton KS 1996-1999. In 2000, she was ordained in the Mennonite Church and completed a hospital chaplain residency in Madison WI. She has been pastoring Northern Virginia Mennonite Church since January 2001, arriving in the DC area the same week as George Bush. She enjoys cooking all kinds of cuisines, raising a garden on her balcony, walking in the nearby woods and playing old hymns on the piano.
