Funding

The Mennonite Church USA Peace and Justice Support Network (PJSN) is self-supporting. We do not directly receive any of the money you put in the offering at a Mennonite Church USA congregation. (See below: we do receive some support from Mennonite Mission Network and the Mennonite Church USA Executive Leadership.) If we are to do our work-of helping our churches stay strong and committed to the peace and justice of Christ and witnessing beyond our congregations-we need your financial support. (Want to know more about our work? Scan this website, (peace.mennolink.org) containing nearly 700 pages, but remember that this is only our easily written work.)
Here's how you can help:
  Donate.
Encourage your congregation to support us. Likely, your church treasurer doesn't realize that the Peace and Justice Support Network isn't directly supported by Mennonite Church USA agencies.
Give this card (55k PDF or HTML) to a friend, along with encouragement to financially support the Peace and Justice Support Network.
  Buy our resources.
Volunteer your time and donate materials. See our wish list.
Keep praying for us. Your prayers keep us going.

Support from Mennonite Church USA agencies

PJSN raises its own funding through individual donations, contributions from congregations and sale of resources. Our $105,000 budget this year includes significant grants toward Leo and Susan’s work, all of Valerie and Lisa’ salaries, the regional Columbus peace gathering, a visually appealing PJSN display you may borrow for your local events, Reference Committee meetings, publications and e-mail lists and website.

Both the Mennonite Mission Network and Executive Leadership provide significant support for additional peace and justice work.

The Mennonite Mission Network expenditures include benefits, travel and salary for Leo Hartshorn, minister of peace and justice, and communication and financial services support for PJSN. PJSN donations fund $30,000 of this support.
The Executive Director’s Office of Executive Leadership funds the peace advocate office. This includes the half-time salary and benefits for Susan Mark Landis, peace advocate; travel and office expenses, program costs, and support costs. PJSN donations fund $10,000 of Susan's support.

MMA has promised a $5000 1/3 matching grant for our fall fund drive. This means that for each $3 you donate, MMA gives PJSN $1, up to $5000.

The Peace and Justice Support Network strengthens Mennonite Church USA's commitment to peace and justice and speaks Christ's peace to our neighbors.

People around the world download an average of 6,000 pages per week from this website.
