J. Ron Byler
Ron is the executive director for Mennonite Central Committee U.S. and a volunteer staff person for Mennonite World Conference. He and his wife, Mim Shirk, live in Goshen, Indiana. They have an adult son, Jesse, and are members of the Eighth Street Mennonite Church, also in Goshen.
Ron first became aware of the social implications of the gospel as a student at the Philadelphia campus of Messiah College where he worked with the center director and professor Ron Sider to form Evangelicals for George McGovern. Since then, he has worked for The Other Side magazine, American Friends Service Committee and several Mennonite organizations.
