Leo Hartshorn
Leo Hartshorn is minister of peace and justice for Mennonite Mission Network <http://www.mennonitemission.net>. He came to this position after almost 30 years of service in various forms of pastoral ministry in California, Texas and Pennsylvania. Hartshorn is a graduate of Ventura College, California Baptist College (B.A.) Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary (M.Div.) and Lancaster Theological Seminary (D.Min.). Leo became a Mennonite in 1987 through the influence of his friend, the Baptist theologian James Wm. McClendon, Jr. A drummer for more than 40 years, Hartshorn has integrated his passions for peace and drumming and is currently co-director of Drumming for Peace, a rhythmic peacebuilding project. Leo heads the Peace and Justice Support Network, whose purpose is to motivate and equip congregations to engage their context with the Gospel. Leo and his wife, Iris de Leon-Hartshorn, Director of Peace and Justice Ministries for Mennonite Central Committee U.S., live in Lancaster, Pa., and have three grown children.
