It's hot! It's about 107 degrees here in Raleigh and expected to stay about the same well into next week. It looks like it's uncomfortable everywhere though, so stay in, stay cool, and enjoy this issue of PeaceSigns.
This month we've got thoughtful pieces looking at peace from many different angles. I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I have. One piece that struck a chord with me this month is "The people with craving" from Brother James Dowd. Brother James always helps us reflect on the inner lives of a peacemaker and this month he focuses in on how inner cravings can be a major obstacle to leading a non-violent life. I can certainly relate! When I'm in pursuit of whatever craving I think I MUST have, patience, gentleness and kindness all go out the window. Thanks for encouraging me to look at my cravings, Brother James.
What speaks to YOU from this issue of PeaceSigns? Every piece has a link in the upper righthand of the page for you to respond and give feedback. We'd love to hear from you how PeaceSigns is encouraging you to explore the peace of Jesus more deeply in your life and the world.
