Merry Christmas! 'Tis the season to reflect on the birth of God's Son, extending the message of peace on earth, good will to all. 'Tis also the season to avoid negative family and social stigma through the exchange of material gifts. What better opportunity to further peace and justice?

The Peace & Justice Support Network of Mennonite Church USA engages Christ's call to peace and justice with a variety of projects. This year, give the gift that keeps on working after the high efficiency LED lights have come down and the shredded wrapping paper is recycled.

When the angel of the Lord appeared to the shepherds keeping watch over their flocks, it did not say, "Be afraid. I bring you news of great joy reserved only for those who spend lavishly on material gifts for friends and family whose love and devotion is tied directly to how much new stuff they receive."
$10--10 copies of the Dove Tales newsletter, printed and mailed to Mennonite schools and non-Mennonites, to assist them on the road to a life of peacemaking

$25--50 magnets to publicly post a positive immigration message: God's Love Has No Borders

$35--One peace lamp given to a world leader or used in a Mennonite Church USA congregation to encourage praying for peace

$50--One kit for talking with students and parents about options after high school/college at a career fair

$75--One banner to attract attention to a congregation's peace booth at a community event
$100--300 postcards and posters telling of God's deep desire for Peace (and Justice) on Earth
$250--Scholarship for a traveler on a peace and justice learning tour
$300--Spanish translation of Mennonite Church USA justice documents

$500--Support for a church initiative through a Spread the Peace grant
