We Pray for Peace

For all the children not yet born
who would suffer from the lingering effects of war fought with conventional, nuclear and biological weapons . . .
We pray for peace.

For infants, toddlers and preschool-aged children
who are most at risk of starvation, dehydration, and death from preventable diseases . . .
We pray for peace.

For school aged children, from 5 to 18
who need to study war no more . . .
We pray for peace.

For young adults
who may be drafted and enlisted into armed service to kill and be killed in the name of patriotism . . .
We pray for peace.

For people in their prime parenting and productive work years
who want to raise children in a safe and sustainable world . . .
We pray for peace.

For people in their middle ages
who hold positions of responsibility and power . . .
We pray for peace.

For retired and senior citizens
who want to live without fear . . .
We pray for peace.

For all the birds of the air, fish in the sea, and animals living on this earth
        who would suffer from war's devastation . . .
We pray for peace.

For the land with its plants and trees, the rivers, lakes and seas, and the air that we breath
which God made for our use, not destruction . . .
We pray for peace.

For the heavens and the earth
which God created in the beginning . . .
We pray for peace.
