Lead and organize prophetic witness and peace and justice advocacy on behalf of Mennonite Church USA

  Listen to what the Spirit is saying to the churches.
  Listen to the concerns of members of Mennonite Church USA. Discern the issues called to the attention of Mennonite congregations and delegates.
  Prepare and coordinate peace-and-justice-related statements and resolutions for delegate assemblies and follow-up materials for congregations.
  Coordinate Mennonite Church USA response to national times of turmoil (with office of communication).
  Relate to peace and justice concerns in other national Mennonite bodies around the world.
  Train church leaders on Executive Board to play an active role and to communicate peace and justice concerns effectively

Coordinate interdenominational relationships concerning peace and justice issues.

  Initiate ecumenical relationships with other denominational peace offices.
  Consult on denominational board appointments to Menonnite-related peace and justice organizations.
  Relate to historic peace churches.
  Stay informed about U.S. office of World Council of Churches work on Decade to Overcome Violence.
  Serve on the Steering Committee of Christian Peacemaker Teams.

Network and provide a structure for accountability for Mennonite Church USA program agencies and the Executive Leadership offices around peace and justice issues.

  Network with Intercultural Relations and other Executive Leadership staff and racial/ethnic people associations.
  Facilitate annual peace and justice audit of MC USA agencies.
  Serve as staff for the Peace and Justice Partnership Council.
  Ensure a peace and justice presence at MC USA conventions.
  Serve on the Executive Board anti-racism team as coordinator.
  Attend Executive Board meetings as helpful.
  Manage Student Aid Fund for Nonregistrants.
  Publish PeaceSigns and keep PJSN website advocacy sections current.
