RESOURCES FOR EARTH DAY (April 22nd)
and CREATION SUNDAY (April 27th).
PRISM E-pistle, the biweekly ezine of
PRISM Magazine & evangelicals for Social Action (ESA).
Over the past several decades many churches have
begun to celebrate the gift of God's creation on the
Sunday that falls closest to Earth Day, which is
always on April 22. We call this annual emphasis on
environmental awareness Creation Sunday. This year,
the Sunday closest to Earth Day is April 27, but we
encourage churches to celebrate Creation Sunday when
it best suits their circumstances.
The Evangelical Environmental Network, a ministry of
ESA, has developed a rich body of resources for
Creation Sunday. Their suggested theme for Creation
Sunday 2003 is "What Would Jesus Drive?" -
prompting Christians to examine transportation
choices through the lens of faith.
To help with this year's theme, new preaching,
teaching, and worship resources are available at

All other Creation Sunday resources can be found at

EEN's Creation Sunday resources are also featured
on the American Bible Society's website throughout
April as their monthly theme. To view them, go to

The Creation Sunday resources are biblically-based
and designed to help busy pastors, worship leaders,
and teachers celebrate Creation Sunday at their
church. New resources are added every year.
