2,000 U.S. service people have now died in Iraq

October 26, 2005

Friends,
Tuesday evening we received the news that 2000 military personnel have now died because of the war in Iraq. This evening, Wednesday, almost 600 events are planned in 49 states, mourning the deaths of coalition forces and Iraqis and calling for an end to the war. (locations: http://www.afsc.org/2000/)

Below are links to resources to help you prepare for your Sunday worship services. If you create materials, please send to Susan Mark Landis so she can share them with others. Please also send to Susan your personal responses to events tonight and reactions to your worship services.

May we come before the Giver of Life in repentance for the taking of life.

Peace,
Susan

American Friends Service Committee has a page of resources you might find helpful for this Sunday's worship service. The page is co-sponsored by: --Gold Star Families for Peace --Iraq Veterans Against the War --Military Families Speak Out

Sections include:
* Suggestions for representing the 2,000 U.S. deaths
* Suggestions for representing the 100,000+ Iraqi deaths
* Posters and Flyers
* Fact Sheets and Information
* Religious Resources for Vigils and Services
* Download the Wage Peace movie
